Governance committees are perhaps the most obscure aspect of Student Senate, but they are instrumental in effecting policy changes in every area.  There are 11 governance committees that are constituted of students, faculty, and administrators.

Based on my previous interactions with committee members on all levels, I have seen that most of these committees are happily faculty-dominated.  The best committees are high-functioning and value student input; the worst are happy to do without consistent student representation.

I'm going a little deeper into these committees to find out how they function, and what they have accomplished, and who is utterly half-assing it.  Because there are so many committees, I may focus on a chosen few later.  I can't really imagine uncovering a big scandal in the Aesthetics committee, but I think it's important that the Faculty Executive committee is better understood.  We'll see come September.
